Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC)

The Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC) promotes the rule of law by initiating and implementing international legal cooperation projects. CILC brings together legal experts from different countries to work out solutions for a variety of challenges within developing legal systems.

CILC has been active in Albania since 2008 and is providing support to the Albanian justice sector institutions in key areas such as judiciary reform, law enforcement and prosecution, enforcement of court decision, regional cooperation for fighting organised crime and corruption, as well as good governance.

CILC was partner in the EU Kosovo ” Further support to legal education reform” to strengthen the rule of law through improving the legal education in Kosovo. As well to strengthen the judiciary through strengthening the capacities of the Kosovo Justice Academy.

In Macedonia, CILC is involved in several legal projects, such as a project focussed at strengthening of the capacities of Center for Legal Research and Analysis (CLRA), enhancing the skills for negotiation and lobbying, and obtaining knowledge on how to incorporate CLRA’s products and achieve the organization’s goals. Or a project entitled “Together for accountability: supporting the special public prosecutor office of Macedonia in strengthening its operational and international judicial cooperation capacities”. But most importantly the IPA2017 project ‘Countering Serious Crime in the Western Balkans’ involveing Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.
